Proton, a Malaysian automaker, has seen a 66% surge in its exports for 2022, with 5,028 units being shipped during the first 11 months of this calendar year compared to 3,018 units in 2021.
Pakistan remains Proton’s largest export market with a total of 2,610 units shipped this year; South Africa and Brunei follow in second and third place respectively.
The Saga has been the most popular export model, while the X70 and X50 have been in second and third place respectively. This is a significant achievement for Proton, although the monthly average of 273 units including both X70 and Saga is not as impressive when compared to the sales figures of other leading automakers.
