Indus Motor Pakistan has announced that it will cease production from December 20 to 30, 2022.
This decision has reportedly been made due to the new regulations from the State Bank of Pakistan that require car manufacturers to obtain prior approval for the import of Complete Knock Down (CKD) kits and passenger car parts.
These regulations have led to delays in imports and acquisition of raw materials, causing a deficit in inventory and resulting production issues. As a result, Toyota, known as Indus Motors in Pakistan, is unable to continue production.
